Default Big Ben Quitting?

Ben Roethlisberger isn't looking ahead to the Pittsburgh Steelers' 2017 season just yet.

After his current campaign ended Sunday in a 36-17 AFC Championship Game loss to the New England Patriots, Roethlisberger said in a radio interview Tuesday that he would take time to weigh whether he would return to action next season.

"I'm going to take this offseason to evaluate, to consider all options, to consider health and family and things like that," Roethlisberger said on KDKA-FM in Pittsburgh. "Just kind of take some time away to evaluate next season — if there's gonna be a next season — all those things. At my point in my career, my age, I think that's the prudent and smart thing to do every year."

Pressed for a commitment on next season, Roethlisberger reiterated his stance, though he later insisted that he was not "by any means saying I'm not coming back."

"Like I said, I'm going to take some time and evaluate with my family and do a lot of praying about it, and make sure it's the right thing for me and my family," Roethlisberger said.

Tomlin says he's been talking about it for a couple of years.

Who knows? With his injuries piling up, and him getting older, maybe he decides to hang 'em up.

I would hate to see him go. He's a guy you love to hate, but so fun to watch.

He reminds me a lot of Fouts. Great pocket presence, and very tough to bring down.

Funny, I always thought the same thing about him. I could have seen him as a Chargers QB.

this equals Philip Rivers threatened to quit football if the team is moved to LA. File it under drama queens Bull Crap.

4. Joe Mixon RB (talented back who'll drop for off field altercation 2 years ago).

Youre talking about his rape case and comparing him to fouts?

Fouts is also very tough to beat in a grumpiness contest.

I'd give him the edge over Ben with that any day...

He enjoyed playing with a great player in Jerome Bettis who played for 13 years. Big Ben is approaching his 12th NFL season. He's won multiple Super Bowls and has had nagging injuries the last two years. Given the risks of today's concussion protocol league, Big Ben doesn't need to play but may give it one last hurrah before retiring.
