We are gonna "always compete" so much that other teams will not be able to compete

That's right.
One month ago.
Perryman and Telesco ran in the LA Marathon.
This was no PR stunt.
They wanted to win the darn thing.
They were there to compete.

The o-line might be slightly better looking at it right now.

Hoping for injury prone players to not get injured is asking for a lot.
You take KA away from WR they are below average.
You take Verrett away from CB below average.
LB is a wait and see they excelled last year, but is that what they really are?
DL is strong, but it can get stronger IMO.
RB needs depth.
S is below average right now.

This team needs a grand slam draft, and I can't say TT has hit it out of the park on any drafts outside of last years.

This team has a ton of question marks right now.
C.Hayward (CB) Below Average??? Interesting take

The Chargers may be talented, but they have had very talented teams numerous times in the past, but could not get it done, whether regular season or the playoffs. So I discount that to a degree. Mental toughness goes a long way in the NFL, which is why some franchises have been successful for long periods of time, while others have languished.

For a 12-4 prediction: let's assume the Chargers win all their LA games. That is a very significant assumption by itself, as even top teams infrequently go 8-0 at home, but let's take that as a given. Road games at NE, Dallas, NYG, Den, Oak, KC, NYJ, Jax. Which of these 4 will they win?
ESPN picked the Bolts to go 9-7, so no reason we shouldn't be that optimistic. I'll say 10-6

Hayward is going to play both CB spots and nickel at the same time?

You hear the same things about different people every year. The only constant was McCoy.
You take away the stars, we aren't as good at those positions, true.
I like our RB depth and S is avg right now. Getting an elite S would put us at or near league best at DB.
The Chargers NEEDs are stay healthy and get their act together on OL. We can take BPA at every pick.
The only real question mark is Lynn. If he's the leader that is hoped for, the talent on his staff & player personnel is adequate for a playoff run.

I think the LA smog has gone to some of your heads. This team lacks talent at multiple positions - OL is a glaring need and the Okung signing is a headscratcher. They are rolling out a rookie head coach that has never had any head coaching experience at any level before last year as an interim. And some folks think 12-4?

Trippin, and I hope they are worse than last year, as long as you know who owns the team. Hurry up and move out of SD while you're at it.
