He'll be competing against 3 other veterans for 1 (maybe 2) spots.

It could happen. But from what I watched of his college tape, it's a longshot. My guess is PS.
IIRC, he looked decent in his first action against the Titans and then blew his knee out against the Cards. My guess is that you are forgetting that little bit of info.

Not by any means calling him a lock or anything, just question the "desperation" label you gave him since he was never forced into action.

I don't believe that he'd make it to practice squad. Somebody would likely take a shot with a roster spot & pluck the 23-year-old off of waivers.

I don't recall how he looked vs. 3rd stringers in a pre-season game. But I do know that his college tape shows that he's a lumbering OG that doesn't pull particularly well, doesn't get to the 2nd level very often, and ends up on the ground too much.

In the 2016 draft, I was hoping the Chargers were going to be a little more serious about improving their 32nd ranked run-blocking OL. They ended up taking an underweight, injured C/G in the 3rd (Tuerk). Putting off OG (and hoping Fluker would improve) until the 7th round seemed desperate at the time....

I like our 2017 attempt much better!

Well I hope we play them in the regular season...

My mistake, u have him at Dline, not LB. Personally, I still see him at LB even in 4-3. Attachou moves inside to DE but not Ingram. Envision Ingram, Perryman and J. Brown behind Bosa, MeBane, Reid/Attachou and Liuget. A few variations but a solid group.

The LEO DE position is a lot like 3-4 OLB, an edge rusher. Ingram is well suited IMO.
Not to say they can't use him at LB but he's our primary edge rusher. We'll see what Bradley thinks..

Actually, Hairston played in 16 games in 2015 and 15 games last season, giving up a total of 8 sacks, and that's mostly as a backup. Not very good stats. He's probably gone.
