I think the team who drafts him needs to have a really strong locker room with veterans who can sort of shield him and let him find his way, and that's not the Chargers locker room, IMO. I'd rather have an ILB who's a big time run stuffer than another Butler type player next to Butler.
I don't know. I think I'd be okay with two Donald Butlers.

Also I think the impact of the jokes is a little overstated. Sure, they are going to jab the hell out of him for it, but at the end of the day they are all brothers on the team, and a joke is a joke. It wouldn't be as detrimental as some people like to state. It doesn't destroy his credibility to the other players.

I can't say that it will or it won't, but that was a current player who said that, so I'd have to assume he would know first hand what's in store for Teo when he's drafted more than myself or you, and that's what my comment was based on.

High profile rookies are always torn apart when they enter the league. Te'o just already has his hazing in front of him to prepare for. Really, I can't see it being a huge issue. There will be jokes, but there already has been. They wont be malicious, it's not like his teammates will hate him, they'll just be poking fun at him. I'd say it's really a non-issue.

If anything, unlike most high profile rooks that are gonna be hazed, Te'o already knows what to expect.

What Te'o's been through during the pre-draft process should already prepare mentally for whats to come in a locker room. If he came to the Chargers I can see him being embraced and not ridiculed. We seem to have guys on this team who are pretty level headed. Of course there will be jokes here and there but nothing Te'o can't handle.

ignore the bogus GF shenanegans, and take a look....

I'm not sure that he's anything more than a 2-down Maulaga type guy. I'm not convinced that he's anywhere near the caliber of AJ Green, Hawke, or Cushing.

I think any team would benefit from his play, but i am not sure that his value as a player is justified with a 1st round selection.

Te'o is a better route runner than Green, but A.J. definitely has the better hands.

I think if you look at every game ND played...including the Naval Academy (Go Navy!), he was trucked at least one time every game. They didn't include those plays in his highlight films. That Alabama game wasn't the first game he made questionable plays in is all I'm saying. I just don't think he's anything special.
