Niners and Chargers TRADE Looms...

I have been hearing it all over the radio stations in the BAY area.

The Niners and Chargers are in Serious negotiations and one of two option will possibly be taking place, this is what they are suppose to be sorting out now.

Option # 1) The Niners send their 1st pick overall and Julian Peterson to the Chargers for the Chargers two 1st round picks ( # 12 and # 28 ) and Drew Brees.

Option #2) The Niners send their 1st pick overall to the Chargers for their # 12th pick and Philip Rivers.

They are also stating that the reason the Chargers are wanting to do the trade so badly is because they want BRAYLON EDWARDS from Michigan.

The NFL's first 2005 Draft trade is upon us!!

This has been going around. As a 9er fan I rather have Option one, but I rather not do the trade at all and just pick Braylon Edwards areselfs...

Sorry. Just don't buy it...especially option #2. The Chargers should receive a top 10 pick for Rivers alone. He was basically a top five pick and now has some experience (in theory more value). I could believe a rumor that the Chargers were trading PR for the 49rs #1 but AJ said the Chargers had no plans on trading PR at this time so IMHO only an incredible offer that he can't turn down would make him go back on his word.

The 49r fans should be dreaming about this. Either one of these options would be lopsided in their favor and just don't make sense for the Chargers.

One more thing...on option #1 (which also won't happen)...how about the 49rs #1 and Julian Peterson for Drew Brees and the Chargers #28. Again, it won't happen because DB will start for the Chargers this year, but its more realistic. Chargers can get a strong OLB in the draft at #28.

i live in the bay i dont hear nothing about the niners and the chargers trading....and why would we trade 2 first rounders plus drew brees for one first rounder and julian peterson....option to would be more logical if any....plus it states in some articles that the niners are trying so hard to trade the number 1 pick but nobody wants it...ill find the link...i forgot where i read that

The 49ers are desperate to trade down to address their many needs, but no other team wants this pick. Rodgers is a nice prospect but not a no-brainer No. 1 overall pick. He has terrific arm strength and good accuracy and would be an instant upgrade over Tim Rattay or Ken Dorsey.

hmmm. i dont know.maybe the phillip one cause i think we're giving them too much inthe first scenerio. and i dont like having the 1st pick this year... too many equal guys to pick from.

hmmm sounds like it was posted by a niner fan. I believe there stands a better chance of Fouts coming out of the announcers booth to take over for teh chargers after we trade Brees, LT and Antonio Gates to the Niners for their 2nd round pick and Arnaz Battle

Rivers would be considered night and day above the other QBs in this draft. He was essentially a #1 last year and would be a no brainer #1 if he was in this QB class.
