Chiefs deal Holmes to Miami - Acquire Patrick Surtain and Jason Taylor

KANSAS CITY -- CNNSI has learned that the Kansas City Chiefs have completed a deal that will send running back Priest Holmes to the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins would send cornerback Patrick Surtain and defensive end Jason Taylor to the Chiefs in exchange for Holmes.
The Chiefs have called a news conference for 3 p.m. CST to announce the trade.

The fact that Holmes was on the trading block will come as a big surprise to Chief fans. When healthy, Holmes is one of the best backs in football, but he's suffered season ending leg injuries in two of the last three seasons. That, combined with the improved play of Larry Johnson and the need to upgrade their talent on defense forced the Chiefs to make a move

Well looks like the dolphins got ripped off. They really got ripped off. Still I don't think that will solve all of their defense issues.

Yes, it is. Go to the link, notice the numbers in the web address? Then click on the SI logo in the top left hand corner. Takes you to a Chiefs site.

Every year we see things like this. What was it last year? I think it was a "Portis Tears ACL and MCL, Will Be Out For Season" article.

Edited: The Rivera signing seems to balance things out. AJ essentially hired an offensive head coach, a defensive head coach, and still got his boy Cottrell one of the best gigs in the league.

I just about peed down my leg.

I didnt panic when the Raiders got Moss, but I sure dont want to see Surtain in the AFC West...especially with Taylor!
