Bolt Brees

I know it has been said a million times, but I'll say it again. Brees is another piece to the puzzle for a Super Bowl ring in SD. Have all of you noticed how we have been quietly signing all the other pieces to long term extensions?

If AJ can finally admit the Brees is the man and sign him to a long term deal, we will have only one thing left to do in the offseason....improve the secondary!!!

funny they put tom brady in the underrated section and he gets 2nd place..

I believe Drew Brees is the QB for the Chargers and hopefully will get signed long-term.

I love the fact that Kerry Collins isn't on either one.He isn't overrated because no one thinks he's good and he isn't underated because no one thinks he's good. He is what he is.....an average QB at best.

Good post.
Instead of just saying he's good. You back it up with stats! hard to deny the evidence we have a solid QB.

It does show Peyton is pretty solid. It's one thing to start hot but to continue over time is a sign of abilities.
Too bad he'll suck when he plays us. NOT.

Hey send the stats to AJ. Or better yet to PR.

Hopefully someone in the Chargers camp will think to look these up for themselves. It's not always wins that determines great QB's Marino, Young, Elway, many others started out with bad records and bad teams and they all went through their up's and down's. Hopefully the Chargers are smart enough to realize the talent this guy has and the future impact he will have in this league.

I happen to disagree here. I believe wins is the only stat that matters. Teams don't play 16 games to see who can throw the most touchdowns. The object of the game is to win it. The better a QB is at winning games, the more valuable he is to his team.

That's why Brady is soooo valauble. His numbers aren't startling, but he's 9-0 in the playoffs. You KNOW if you give him a chance to win the game for you, he's going to do it.

I believe Roethlisberger still has only lost to the Patriots. He has less than stellar numbers (aside from QB rating) but look at the difference he makes. Pittsburgh is a decent, but very beatable and quite ordinary when Ben's on the sidelines. When he's in the game, they are incredibly tough, and seem to always do what they need to for the win.

That's what convinced me Brees was the real deal. When he came off the bench that first year (mebbe 2nd) to rally us to the winning TD against the Chiefs I said "that guy's got moxie!" Then to hear him talk each week on 1090 through that horrible 4-12 season and refusing to roll over and give the starting job to PR, you just knew the kid had what it takes to be great in this league. And he's still getting BETTER.

This team is built to bully the rest of the NFL for the next decade. I love it!

Well of course you have to win but my point was being that many successful or hall of fame quarterbacks didn't come in this league and immediately lead their team to the playoffs or super bowl. There were growing pains for many of them. Look how long it took Elway to win a Super Bowl. Does that mean he was not a good QB until then? No he was one of the best ever the SB just solidified that. Marino never won the big one but he remains one of the greatest ever. Brees can be just that, he has the potential to be one of the best ever even if he doesn't win the big game or it takes a while. Not many QB's come in like Brady did, but lets not forget that the Pats did an awesome job building that team and Brady was one a big part of a bigger machine. How good are they now with all their injuries? You're right though, give Brady a chance to win and he will step up.
