With all of the teams switching to 3-4's I wouldnt be surprised if Moala and Brace are gone mid-early second either but I think gilbert will stay third because of that reason (teams pick all their DE early and leave some out)

22 TFL is 22 TFL. I don't care the competition level. Joey Porter is living proof of that

If that's the case then let's take Jimmy Simmons. He had 27 TFLs.
How about Steven Wilson? We should have grabbed him back in '03. 39 one year 38.5 another. So what if he played DIII? What, only 1A matters? Okay, who could forget Jason Babin, Western Mich (32 TFL, 2003)? I'll bet the Texans were happy he worked out so well after spending a first rounder on him! Wait, what? He ended up a career backup? Apropos.

Mike Mayock, NFL Network Listen to the name Jarron Gilbert, a defensive end from San Jose State, because he's going to flash and a lot of people are going to have to go back and look at his tape. He's a beast, he's a freak, but he was inconsistent in college. This is what Mike Mayock said about Jarron Gilbert on nfl.com |

Gilbert's stock will rise after the Combine. The Combine rewards athletic freaks like Gilbert and Michael Johnson. Gilbert will go in the 2nd round and could go in the 1st if he generates enough buzz (the YouTube pool video will only help).
I'm glad we have AJ and our scouts because they do a consistently good job of evaluating talent and knowing how much stock (if any) to put in combine performances.

I been hearing alot about Jarron, and I think we should pick him up at the 3rd. To me, I think he will do way better than BJ Raji. Jarron is big, strong and very very quick. This is someone we need in the 3-4.

Thats true but there is bust potential in every player and who would you pick if we didnt get Gillbert?

Urbik, Greene, Vasquez, Shipley, Topou How about an ILB who can cover? Nic Harris Or a safety? Vaughn or even Hamlin Hell, I'd rather take likely 4th rounder Dorell Scott in the 3rd than Gilbert. All 9 of those guys have less bust potential than Gilbert. Let some other poor suckers get sucked in by his athleticism.
