Cold is not an issue, rain is though, but only if it looks like it's going to pour for multiple days. If it was going to just dump and blow through we'd still be going.

We went to the Willian Heise County Park campground a couple weeks ago and it is a really nice campground. It has a few hiking trails, a nice big field for the kids to play in, there are wild turkeys all over the place, and its spread out pretty good so you're not packed in and have room at your site.

We've been there a few times. Once it had snow on the ground and the kids got to see that for the first time.

Mostly we go out to the desert (my fave) or to a camp ground north of Santa Ysabel (Mataguay Scout Reservation).

There are wild turkeys also up on Mt. Laguna. They allow hunting certain times of the year. I've seen hunters out with bows.

The desert would be nice around now because it would likely be dry.

Nothing like watching the stars by a hot campfire under a clear night sky and waking up to a tall cup of hot coffee.

The kids love it.

They can climb rocks, explore natural caves, slide down mountains, launch rockets. Lots to do.

We like it too. Good break from the week.
