The problem is that Eli was not a starter in his rookie season. He appeared in 9 games often as a sub to Warner. He had roughly half the number of attempts Gabbert had. The season that Eli did start he did much better than Gabbert.
And by the way I didn't even look at the stats until you brought it up. I'm going by what I saw, Gabbert was horrible. The stats only back that up.
His trade value right now is pretty low if you ask me, but Tebow's is lower.
