I've been paying close attention to his play these first three games this season and to me it seems he hasn't gotten better compared to the previous years.
It looks like he has no confidence and is playing too scared to have any kind of impact on the defense. At some point were going to have to go in another direction to get our secondary to play like it's supposed to. But the fact that he is still the starter suggests that we don't have anybody who can take over. We tried that with gilchrist last year and that didn't work out ! Any other options ?? Please discuss |

I think he's garbage, but right now I don't think we have any other options. I felt like the secondary was going to be a concern & it has proven to be. There was a run by Turner at the end of the game where Cason pulled a Cromartie. I am not okay with that.

I thought Cason was going to be a Jammer type player where he takes a few years to develop but eventually becomes a solid player, an I have seen slight improvement but he certainly isn't there yet. I think we draft a new CB and continue to develop Wright and Gilcrest.

Cason had a pick on Matt Ryan to save a touchdown. In addition he made plays which would've lead to incompletions (one of which possibly leading to a punt away) but were flagged incorrectly. Remember Atlanta has torched CBs from Denver and other good teams too. At least Cason made good plays against Ryan (amongst bad ones too) but I'm not mad about Cason as much as Mathews.

Luis Castillo (pylon) Shawne Merriman (juicer) Antonio Cromartie (can't tackle in the playoffs) Craig Davis (worthless) Antoine Cason (sammy davis clone) Larry English (can't even get on the stat sheet/glass joe) Ryan Mathews (fumbler/glass joe) Corey Liuget (jury still out-but it doesn't look promising) Melvin Ingram (jury still out-but it doesn't look promising) It just sucks we couldn't get at least ONE legitimate player out of the first round in the last NINE YEARS |

Please discuss With regards to Cason, I said the same thing earlier this season after watching him in pre-season but was shouted down by the pom-pom boys. While I was unable to see yesterday's game I did see our first two. I think it was against the Titans and they were down around our 8 yd line and Cason was playing five yds off of his receiver with them on the 8yd line!!!! and this resulted in a touchdown of course. I think Cason thinks his speed will make up for his playing so far off of receivers, so he is often beat on short or intermediate routes. He also gets turned around easily on double moves. As I said during the preseason, I think it's time Wright got a shot. With respect to Mathews again I said we need to trade him while he still has some value. He is anthing but durable and is fumble prone. Both of this attributes came with him from college.
