Bah we are going to have 3 first rounders cause of brees..............
Say Thomas Davis, Mike Williams, Kirk Morrision

mike williams will never get past the raiders at #7

if chicago doesnt get him at 4 (which alot of draft insiders have him going)

he will probably be snatched up by Tampa at 5 and if not
Al Davis will not let him get past there.
He loves guys from SC and Jerry Porter may not be back.

Thomas Davis will be there at 12 unless the Texans take him....I really dont see Lions taking him since they need line help and Im pretty sure the Texans will pass on him even though he would give them a VERY good secondary....they could use a D lineman more though.

There are like 5-7 D linemen that could go in the first round and I dont think there are all that many teams that will take one that early, so with the 28th pick I would take the biggest and most talented D lineman that is available.

I would also consider Antrel Rolle, Mike Williams, or Derrick Johnson at 12 - or - Kirk Morrison or Pac Man Jones at 28th (there is no way that Pac man will go before Rolle like some Mocks say, but I doubt he would slip that low.)

innersoulevents

the reason Pac Man is going ahead of Rolle in some drafts is that Pac Man is more suited toward the new NFL rules. Rolle is more physical but that doesnt mean anything anymore with the new rules. Pac Man is better at speed and man to man coverage. (from what ive read, im no scout)
Also I think it is very possible that Thomas Davis goes to the Lions. well see

Dream picks would be

WR Edwards
OT Brown

Landing a OT with the 28 slot the quality of Brown would be a major steal.

As long as I am dreaming how bout Mike Patterson DT in round 2#

I love patterson in round two. If he fell that far I would jump all over him. I'd love to see:

1A DJ, if gone then Williams/Edwards
1B J. Brown, Roth (I think he could play LB), or Clayton (if 1a wasn't a WR)
2 Patterson if gone then Morrison.

I'd be okay with that too, but after the show Clayton gave the scouts during the Senior Bowl practices and the game, I think he's moved up the board. It's all guess right now though, maybe we can get Clayton at that spot but I really doubt it.

Doesn't look likely with this report from The Insiders:
__________________________________________________ ________

Khalif Barnes continues to reap the benefits of what was a sensational week of practice at the Senior Bowl. NFL teams were not only impressed by his performance but also the toughness he displayed. Before arriving in Mobile, Barnes had a cast on his injured wrist, which he promptly cut off, then had a joint tightly taped so he would be able to participate in all the practices.

We have learned that both the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets are seriously considering using their initial pick to choose Barnes but the question remains; will the big offensive tackle be available late in the first round.

I'll go with 1-A Spears 1-B Clayton (with the signing of a solid FS in free-agency.)

Chargeroo

I think AJ will sign at least one, maybe two key players in the Free Agent market. Will it be a WR, a Safety, a DE, or perhaps an OT or Guard? When we know the answer to that and the dust clears from the combine, we'll be able to do a much better guess at what the Bolts are looking for in the Draft.

DEboltsfan
02-23-2005, 01:24 PM
12-- Derrick Johnson
28--Antrelle Rolle

Take care of a reciever in the free agent market. We should be able to land Gardner, Coles, or Mason at a reasonable price.

#12: Marcus Spears; size and athleticism fits our need at 3-4 DE like a glove.

#28: Matt Roth; a converted LB, could be a monster opposite Foley at the LOLB spot.

DEFENSE!! DEFENSE!! DEFENSE!!

#12- top three WR- Edwards, Williams, or Williamson
#28- KIRK MORRISON
In second round- Roscoe Perrish- Big time playmaker and next Dante Hall on kickoffs and punt returns

Mike Williams#12
Brodney Poole#28

If Williams falls either Derrick Johnson,Braylan Edwards or Thomas Davis
If Pooles gone at 28 then Cody/USC or James Butler FS Georgia Tech

No doubt a lot will still change between now and draft day - but that sure looks like it could happen as of this moment...

Personally, I'm still hoping for an OT somewhere in the 1st round - but yeah - we need that stud DE...

My dream draft would be we get Derrick Johnson and Shaun Cody.

At LB you can bring Godfrey or Phillips in as situational guys. Very deep linebacking corps with Johnson, a player for every situation. On the line, that looks pretty good too. Could be a top five defense with that.

And like I recommended in another thread, go get Surtain via trade. That would be a defense that could carry us all the way, even with Marty's bad decisions in playoff games.

If Mike Williams or Derrick Johnson are still around I would take them.

To be more realistic:
1A) Marcus Spears (would be just as happy taking Alex Baron)
2B) Mark Clayton
