I know, that deal confuses me. Maybe they have agreed in principle or something along those lines, just haven't actually written the signature on the actual contract yet.

Glover's actually pretty small for a NT. I almost wonder if he might not be an ideal DE in the 3-4.

I don't know for certain but since he was released from his contract he is immediately a free agent and can sign like the chargers signing that huge list of FA's in the offseason in december or january.

The start of free agency is when all the contracts for players from the 2005 season expire. Brees for instance is still the property of the team until his contract expires. If they decided to cut Brees today he's a free agent today he doesn't have to wait for his contract to expire. Glover being cut, he's no longer the property of his former team and can agree to terms.

We can go after people like Mawae, Madison, Arrington, Seau, etc right now, it's just that the official free agency where all the contracts expire will come as soon as the CBA B.S. is done.

I think he would. DEs in the 3-4 are basically DTs in a 4-3.

and he is now signed by St louis.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - The St. Louis Rams (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/team/67051) signed defensive tackle La'Roi Glover (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/player/70247) on Monday, inking the six-time Pro Bowl selection who was released by Dallas last week to a three-year deal.

you cannot sign free agent to be's, but free agents that were already released are open for anyone.

If La'Roi is signed going back to the 4-3 would be what the defense does because we would have two of the premier DT's in the league.
