j/k

well now that they got pennington restructured and mawae cut, seems like the obvious 4th overall pick is either going to be traded or used on the brickmeister

The guy is really athletic for a center, if we signed him he could probably play at left guard.

while having him would upgrade the line substantly, we don't need a center right now. Nick Hardwick is a good young player who seems to be getting better every year. The GM should use the extra money to sign some experianced, proven DB's and if you wanted to add to the line, we are in need of a tackle to replace the aging Roben Oben.

Bentley is young and much more talented than Mawae. Mawae is old. I wouldn't complain if AJ signed him, but I would much prefer that AJ get Bentley!

Agreed. Bentley has much more upside but I would be happy with Mawae or contempt with any upgrade at the offensive line. Chargers are currently in perfect postion.

It would be great to get Mawae. I think he can take over at G or play his C position and move Hardwick to G.

Man Hardwick got owned this year especially when a linebacker rushes him up the middle......Just watch ZT in the Miami game.....Hardwick was not as good in 05' as he was in 04'

Nick struggles against the bull rush.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Mawae 35 and hasn't he been injured a lot recently?

mawae would be a huge upgrade for us but you have to remember his age, he is 34 yrs old!!! he is maybe a 1-2 year thing. thats why i believe we should get bentley because of his age, 27, and can only continue to get better.

If Mawae is signed then 1 of the centers would have to be moved to guard. I would say move Hardwick to guard because he is younger and he'll learn the position faster than Mawae.

So If we don't get Bentley. We get Mawae. Mawae would definitely show Hardwick how it is done.

As a center myself, i know how important it is to have a solid middle O-line....35? he is still good for another year....MaYbE 2....if not he could teach Hardwick a thing or two!

Man, lets focus on getting Bentley... then if we don't get him as a center.. just draft one. Mawae is good, but getting up there in age and injuries are just around the corner.
