IMO mcginnest is better than almost all of our LBs, kinda old though, but i don't think he's ready to be anyone's backup

Hhhmm not so sure. Merriman is a beast. Foley along with Jamal W. is our heart of our d. Phillips is well just a crazy pass rusher and im curious to see how he does when he learns to play the run well.

Nope, he was an UFA. Good for Ben, maybe there he can get a starting role that wont be taken away by a beast that Dallas passed on :p

You've got to be kidding yourself... Foley, Phillips and Merriman are such an incredible OLB crew its ridiculous.

We're not saying he doesn't deserve his props. I was a huge Leber fan. I thought he was a real solid linebacker until he got hurt, but for $20 million? I think the Vikings could have found a linebacker in the first round of the draft that could have done the job just as well. We did.....

I always laugh when I see things like this. They're good, but not incredible and not close to rediculuosly incredible, they're just good.

Maybe it was you who wasn't listening.

I dont think McGinest is any better than Foley, Phillips, or Merriman and you mentioned he is almost better than ALL of our LB's. Super Bowl rings dont determine who the better LB is. That's a joke!

Laugh all you want, but we are stacked at OLB.

What we really need are some guards and offesive line help. Looks like all of those FA's are already sucked up by other teams. Maybe AJ will target them in the draft.

Wasn't Mcginest one of the guys that was involved in that little sideline shoving match when the Pats went down to the Broncos? Funny way for a classy group of guys to act huh? pushing each other because they lost

Ben was a good linebacker in the wrong system. He was to little to be crashing up against 300+ pound players every other play. I hope this move turns out well for him.

we can still get a compensatory pick (picks given out by the nfl for teams who lost quality players in the offseason) for him if he has a really good year but i wouldnt count on it
