Vikings | Team reaches agreement with D. Scott

Adam Caplan, of Pro Football News and Injury Report, reports the Minnesota Vikings have reached a contract agreement with free agent DL DeQuincy Scott (Chargers)

Though it's tough to see him leave, it's ok since he's out of the division. Looks like Milligan and Kassim will have to be the leaders on special teams.

What happened to us being the only "contenders" in the sigining of DQ?

Guess that fizzled...

Good luck to DQ.

He's a great team guy, but a man without a position in the Chargers 3-4 defense. :Bolt:

Although he wasn't a starter, he was considered a leader in the clubhouse...with both Brees and DQ gone, we'll be looking for others to step up in the leadership role.

Maybe its just the ex Charger players that want to take a boat ride. JK. Yeah, I wanted DQ to be signed, but he has to do what's best for him.

Won't we get some type of concessionary pick now like a 4-5rd pick since he signed with the Vikings?

Nooooooooooooooooooo!!! He is our D-line vocal leader. He is good. AJ better bring in someone that knows how to talk because right now all we have is lead by example guys. Hopefully Merriman and Foley can be more vocal. This stinks.

I'm disappointed. I never heard anything about the Chargers offering anything or being interested, etc. I think this is another poor move. We're creating holes on the roster, without any good FA's left, and too many to fill with the draft...considering that they'd be too young to have much of an impact. I think the first 3 round picks can make an impact, but now we need 2 OL, another DL, a LB, a late round WR, etc.

This is my first post. Cool. Who care if DQ left man, he didn't even start. The Vikings probably overpaid for him like they did for Leber. Or maybe Leber and DQ are worth what they got, Leber is definately not worth $4 million a year on the bench for us, DQ is probably in the same circumstance.

The sky is falling!!!! I love that one.

I really like DQ and was hoping we'd get him back, I hope he goes on to have a great career as a Vike!

DQ was odd man out when it came to the defense though. we run a 3-4 not a 4-3. DQ was the vocal leader its fine though Merriman its your turn to step up and bring your passion to the rest of the players

Daggone, I was hoping to have him back for some depth on the D-Line.

all I know is that with this signing that makes six of our UFAs that have signed with other teams

in contrast to what we signed we better get at least 2-3 compensatory picks in the 2007 draft

A starting QB should easily fetch a 3 rounder and there is no telling what the rest of the batch will

command but I have to assume a 5 and a 6 would be adequate---the eagles have had back to back

years when they got at least 3 comps and I don't recall them losing this caliber of players

not to mention the fact that they have been active in free agency while getting those comps

time will tell:(

DeQuincy was a great player in 03 when he led the team in sacks; however, he had no where in the 3-4, he is a situational pass rusher and the most he gave the team this year was a voice in the huddle. Good luck to him next year.
