How does the wildcard work?

According to http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/standings/wildcard.jsp?tcid=mm_mlb_standings

The AL gets two Wildcard teams, but the NL only gets one? That makes no sense.

Then again, AL getting designated hitters makes no sense either.

they simply show both NY and TB as wildcard leaders because they're tied for their division

one of them will win the div, one the wc

They changed it so the Yankees could play the Red Sox in the playoffs.

National league has more teams though. Think there should be two wild cards?

No, every team has a fair chance to win. And the National League Central with the extra team sucks anyway, so it's not a problem.

You forgot to mention that the AL West only has 4 teams. Those teams have the easiest road to the playoffs.

You really want to see a picher with a .86 average hit? Thats why AL lineups are much stronger. I am not a purist when it comes to this.

It's part of the game, if your on the field, then your in the lineup! When does it apply then, under your assertion, anyone hitting below 100, just automatically substituted and they can stay on the field?

Lets have a team full of defensive players and then one for offensive! YEAP! :LightsOut:

Things suddenly get interesting. If the Braves win the wild card and we win tomorrow, that means we'd be playing them in the first round and the Reds get the Phillies? The Reds have the same record as us right now...

Doesn't matter, you still gotta be the best team. And no one gave the Rangers much of a fight anyway.
