Ouch. I want to say it is, but that's based on the result of the play. If Jackson breaks through the tackles, it's a great block.

I would like to think it is a cheap shot as well, but from an offensive scheme point of view, I believe its a good block.

IDK tough call...

i always thought you weren't allowed to block below the knees if you were coming outside in....maybe its something else
i know cut blocks are leagle but that does look uncalled for

Clean and legal.

In the trenches it would be, but not downfield.

Legal hit but not clean IMO.

It's a shame Berry is done with the season. Hope he gets better.

I really didn't want any excuses by KC fans when they get thrown on for 500 yds by rivers. Really sucks for Berry.

Hate to hear the news that kc safety eric berry has a torn acl and is out for the year. A talented player and really good guy. #chiefs (http://twitter.com/#!/search?q=%23chiefs)

Ouch!! Not good at all for a fine young player. :(

Things are going from bad to worse in Haleytown.

The play seems dirty but at least it involved a potential play on the ball. Whereas Merrimen's hit/s by the Titans seemed premeditated.

Maybe not a cheap shot after all. Clip from the NFL network on the injury. It was not the play linked prior, but this one. He went down without being hit.

ouch for KC.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) A person familiar with the situation says Chiefs safety Eric Berry (http://content.usatoday.com/topics/topic/People/Athletes/NCAA/Eric+Berry) has a torn ACL in his left knee and is done for the year.

Poor kid. Dude was going to be a beast this season. May be a Chief, but he was fun to watch.

He tried to come back after that and then left for the game and now the season.

And it was a dirty block. You don't just slide into a guy's knee full force because you are too much of a pansy to block.

Does anyone notice that initial contact was made below the knee? If that's the case then yes, its an illegal block. That's a type of penalty u see on the los but just the fact that its 15 yards downfield makes it definitely a cheap shot.

tough break for berry, he was a very good looking young safety.
