At its worst, it's a percentage bet. How many teams win the SB every year?

So, assuming Norv gets a job again, he's got 1/32 chance per year.

However, it seems unlikely he'd get a job with a SB caliber team (why would they be hiring?) so his chances are a little less.

Add to that that he'll constantly be looking for another chance to be a HC.

I'm just working percentages. I'd make the same bet about Belichick at this point.

dastardly! you tricked me into saying the offense was good last year...

i did just mean statistically they were a top 5 offense. Timing is everything. Chargers had/have poor timing...3 years running now.

Every time I see a "Breaking News" pop up on NFL Network, I am hoping it is Norv Turner's release. I doubt he is going to get fired at this point. Spanos said last year he doesn't believe in firing coaches mid season. So after 6 straight losses it's probably going to be the same.

Agreed. Not sure why owners like to pick up coaches who got fired for being losers. I'd go for a proven college coach.

Your point is well taken, but coordinators come and go.

For example with the job that Arians did with the Colts this year he could be looking at a HC job next year. With Luck they will be a Sb contender in the near future.

Who knows what will happen going forward.

The decision should truly come down to this: If ANY potential GM and HC had the track record from 2010-2012 that AJ Smith and Norv Turner have had, the last three seasons, we'd be ROFL at the suggestion that we hire these clowns.

We consistently disappoint in FA and the draft, and then we fail to produce during the regualr season. We've gone 4 of the last 5 seasons roughly .500, and we've now lost 7 of the past 8 games this year?!?!?

Yet here we are, with plenty of people trying to make a good case on keeping them. If they were on the outside looking in as a package deal, who would go onto eBay and press "BUY IT NOW"?

Spanos is. AJ more than Turner. Turner will be the goat. There always is with AJ Smith.

From firing the ST coach, the DCs, the list goes on and on.

Do you think the only reason we have not seen Norv Fired yet is because Spanos wants to fire both AJ and Norv the end of this year? If he just fires Norv and the team improves under a new coach Spanos might feel pressure to keep AJ around.

I honestly thought that Norv would be gone about now. If we lose to the Bangles, I don't see how Norv will be around until the end, but I am sure he will be.
