![]() Versus the Denver Broncos Sunday week 17 of 2018 marks Iron Man Philip Rivers 208th consecutive start leaving him tied with Peyton Manning for 3rd all time and only 2 behind Eli for 2nd all time and now 89 starts behind Favre for 1st all time (5 and a half years away would make Rivers 43 years old then, sitting those first 2 years really hurt his stats, Rivers would be way ahead of Eli & Ben in yards and TD's if no Brees in 04 and 05, remarkable stat by Favre that I never appreciated before now).

![]() Versus the Patriots will be including the postseason Rivers 219th consecutive start (one of those was on a torn ACL vs. Patriots with no Tomlinson or Gates, he slept on a floor all week with his knee in a automated machine bending it nonstop so he could play and it was a close game vs. the undefeated Pats).
Eli had 222, Peyton 227, Favre 321. (Favre's streak is so much more impressive now in my opinion, used to dislike him due to all the love he got even though he was a turnover machine). Last edited by ChargingBolts; 01-10-2019 at 09:11 PM.. |

![]() Why did the Chargers call their last timeout after Rivers got helmeted and time management was critical (KC game)? Was he concussed? No.
Rivers seemed in such disbelief that the call wasn't made, he thought the game should be stopped? Huh? He came to his senses too late because the sideline saw the play clock was winding down and Rivers wouldn't have time to regroup. Can someone explain that to me? I'll tell you. It's Rivers being Rivers (his one human flaw). Always has been. His game is almost flawless otherwise. ![]() Last edited by Caslon; 01-12-2019 at 11:36 PM.. |

![]() To Rivers: "Time and tide waits for noone". Especially when the clock and game clock is ticking down and you didn't get a flag for a helmet to helmet hit. Penalty calls (or lack thereof) are not subject to review. Please Rivers, please keep that in mind when time is of the essence.
