"leave no stone unturned" is how the greatest teams operate. It feels like chargers like to proceed in theoretical football of "if we play balanced Football......

this is the NFL. backup QB's literally have no value. The only reason 1/2 the starting QB's do have value is because teams need a body under center.

The main purpose of having a backup QB (at least in the Chargers' case) isn't to eventually have trade bait. It's a nice luxury but ultimately is beside the point.

The job of the backup QB is to help the starting QB. It's why Clemens is still on the team. He shouldn't be the starter ever. But he, like Whitehurst in the past, have helped Rivers a lot. So part of the leaving "no stones unturned" probably involves finding the right guy who can help your starting QB.
