Some of you crack me up talking about RB's, QB's and pass rushers, Serious!

We have a young defense, except for CB's which we should address in this draft or maybe FA.

We better use at least 3 picks including first on OLine, and it starts with Jake Matthews, the guy can play anywhere on the line, and will be our future LT!

Deciding that we're going to take one position no matter what is what landed us English, Buster, and Cason. Being successful through the draft is about value more than need. Obviously offensive line is our biggest need, but if we just take whoever we feel the best offensive lineman is with our top picks regardless of who is on the board overall, we could be royally screwing ourselves over. Especially if we take a right tackle like Matthews in the top ten.

Top 10 is pretty high for a RT. If Mathews impresses the Charger staff by performing well at the combine and during LT drills it could be a different story. Then again a free agent RTs could be signed to retain our 1st round pick for other talent.

Yeah, micromanaging has been a big issue with AJ since 2007. Taking the BPA is usually the best way to go, I mean the Giants in 2010 need DB's yet they took JPP and it turned out pretty good for them.

Just from what I've seen of him...that would truly surprise me. He's a NFL ORT. He might...might play OLT in a pinch for a game or two max, but he'd be, IMO, like a fish on the river bank.

WHat about fisher or lewan? Are they worthy of a high pick(top 7-8) assuming Joeckel is gone? I haven't really done much research on these prospects yet.

Fisher intrigues me, but I'd like to see him play in the all star games against some top talent. For some reason I have a real good feeling about him...just a gut thing, but I will not be surprised if after the all star games and combine he ends up flying up draft boards and into the top 15, perhaps top 10. Lewan is, IMO, borderline top 10, but I really see him between 12-15 area. That's just my own opinion though, but as an overall prospect I like him better than Matthews, especially if he can get his temper under control. He does have a mean streak which sometimes results in some dumb penalties. I see him more as an ORT in the NFL, but he can play OLT as well, especially on a short basis if our OLT were to go down.

I just don't understand where the Lewan is a right tackle angle is coming from. He's an excellent pass blocker, and a nasty run blocker. He's perfect for LT.
