Could have swore I heard something over the StubHub PA before the game last night.

It was an audio recording of the famous trumpet riff from the old Forum in Montreal.

Such sweet music.......StubHub would be wise to steal it.

Per Terez Paylor, Chiefs Insider and respected pundit, this morning...

"If you are a fan of a tortured franchise, get ready. You are going to lose a couple of games this year because of the new helmet rule."

It will probably go like this: our JackBoyz will get a stop on third down, during a key drive in the fourth quarter. It will be a clean, physical football play, to deny the first down, only a flag will be thrown.

Hopefully OP considers this a worthy contribution to the thread.

Injuries, bad play calling, bad reffing, bad luck.....all things the winning team overcomes on the way to becoming champion.

Even at full speed, it looked like Watkinsí (pre-ACL) facemask made contact with the runnerís helmet. See what you hit, isnít that the way tackling is taught?

I am confused on what is, and isn't, a legal tackle, hoping the players have a much better understanding.

As is typical in woodposts, there were nuanced, inside NFL takes.

I was thinking of the way The JackBoyz ball.

The weekly podcast on this website talk about the affect of the helmet rule. It looks to be called tighter in the pre-season than regular to establish awareness. Also, data collection is good to track calls. Who gets called in violation of this rule by offense? Defense? Position?

Lastly, Coach Carroll talks up applying tackling using rugby techniques with the Seahawks. His staff emphasizes these techniques when teaching and watching film. Wonder if this can be used across the league as a way to refine players tackling skills over time. Best to focus on playing fast with a refined skill then having the rule dictate the way you tackle.

It looked to me like an obvious penalty.
