Default 2017 Interior OL Thread

Interior OL has been a problem over the years. Here are some of the better options around the league for FA pickups along with their 2016 salaries.

Luke Joeckel - 25 - 5.3 M
TJ Lang - 29 - 5.2M
Evan Mathis - 35 - 4M
Jonathan Cooper - 26 - 3.6M
Chance Warmack - 27 - 3M
Ron Leary - 27 - 2.55M
Chris Chester - 33 - 2.3M
Kevin Zeitler - 26 - 1.8M
Austin Pazstor - 1.7M

While I acknowledge I am being unfairly literal, but none of those guys you have listed are actually FA's.....and only a few might end up testing the market. With a premium on o-line these days, most teams will attempt to keep any that are worth it, and the others hit the dumpster bin for a reason.....do you really want the Bolts dumpster diving again ?

Which ones arent Free Agents?

This list is straight from spotrac.com as of this morning.

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/guard/

Every year talented OL enter free agency after people say they'll be resigned. I doubt this coming offseason is any different.

Projected FA's......none are actually FA's at this point in time, or so I believe.

Most will be resigned by their respective team, or so I believe.

Right. That's why this is the 2017 FA thread.

The thread is an exercise in futility at this point in time, or so I think.

To a certain extent you are quite correct, but no GM wastes his time looking at potential FA's for 2017 this soon, especially a position group that is so in demand league wide. Most will never reach FA. I believe TT was just recently quoted as saying his focus is completely on this season, and not getting ahead of the normal timeline of things.....or something along those lines. (no I am not digging the quote up, and yes, he is supposed to say stuff like that)

Totally disagree.

I'd wager they have reports on every player in the league. Some more extensive than others, but every player.

FAs, trades, all of it.

Absolutely.....

We have dossiers on every player in professional ice hockey, and a ton on prospects coming up from 12-13 age groups on up.

Having a 'report' on a player is a far cry from actively targeting him as a potential FA. A few weeks out from FA, and any competent staff can compile the needed information to create a list of interest. It is just too soon....but we are fans, so we can look and drool all we want.
