I am going with all the Tight Ends projected to go in the first 3 or 4 rounds. Would like the Chargers to add one and go to more 2 TE sets to help get the power running game going and get the ball out of River's hands faster.

Njoku will run 4.5 and vault into top 10.
Evan Engram will run 6.50 3Cone and vault into top 30.

Shanarat Jr ran 13 personnel 2/3rds of the time last year.
This disguised run vs pass and was quite successful.
Three quality TEs and two quality RBs will be the next trend.

BTW.
Your off season plan is comprehensive and stellar.
Although Ed McGuire must approve.
Two and only two questions.
Butt that early ?
Elder @ 5'10" ?

Sincerely, woodeye Scouting Bureau.

Default My 5 to watch

There are 5 guys I'm very interested in watching at the combine, each one may be available to us in the 2nd/3rd. Baker and Reddick are the exception. If either perform well, they can be gone in the first.

Tyus Bowser LB
Hassan Reddick DE/OLB
Budda Baker S
Obi Melifonwu S

I'm interested in who Anthony Lynn wants to go after in the draft. Seems to me that he was hired to establish a strong power running game. I think Gordon has the talent that can be exploited. And Andre Williams is a good back for a power running game too.

So who does Lynn covet to improve the line play that will open the lanes for the Chargers backs? Feeney would be a good get. But will he be there when we pick? Not in the first round, but the 2nd? Same thing for Forrest Lamp, or Garret Bolles. Will these guys last until the 2nd round?

Or we could go the free agent route for guards and tackles, if the focus for the Chargers draft is dline, linebackers, safeties, and wide recievers.

Lynn was hired for a reason. I think his input has got to carry some weight.

High praise and appreciated coming from the eye.
Would also be on board trading down to 12 or 13 to take Howard or Njoku. Butt probably too high but there is a drop off at TE after him? A better FS to be had in the 4th maybe?
Elder is in that range in the rankings, could very well move another there after the combine. Value in the 5th to replace Flowers.
My theory on D is to build a monster front four and get bigger everywhere except possibly corner (coverage skills) to shut down the run and stay healthier a la drafting Thomas and playing Ingram at LB.

I don't give my opinion on USC players because I am a huge fan, and tend to have a bias view.

What I can tell you is this past off-season he made huge strides to get himself into better shape losing around 30 or so pounds and it showed.

If he can continue to dedicate himself in football I think he has good upside.
