I'm feeling similar sentiments. Sure wished the team turned the corner while remaining in San Diego. Ultimately, a real grade can't be given until these players make the roster and compete against pro competition (least 2 years). On paper grade remains a B+.

I too preferred a blue chip defensive player right off the bat to plug and play (Chargers fell a pick short with Adams but certainly would of liked, Jonathan Allen. I do see the reasoning for picking Mike Williams. He will be nice insurance in case Keenan Allen were to go down for the 3rd time in 3 seasons.

Picking Lamp in the 2nd just feels right and we we're fortunate Forrest fell to us. The feeling of "can't miss" hits you with Lamp. Look for him to start in September. Feeney may have a decent shot at breaking the lineup as well. The days of desperately seeking the waiver wire for linemen is behind us...knock on wood. Here's to a healthy upcoming season.

I also woke up this morning with a renewed sense of sadness about the move. I have a funny feeling that this team is going to have a very, very good year and it won't be happening in the city that has supported them for more than 50 years.

One of our best drafts in years... Some of you guys won't be pleased with anything.

Solid A- from me.

I still think Lamp gets looked at for OC.....

Rivers is still our best player (With respect to Bosa)
And we have him more motivated and excited than ever.
that story about the "message draft picks send" is real
Lynn understands he can/needs to win now if he ever wants to continue with a head coaching career in the NFL

Also, picking two guards back to back
Also sets up a sense of competition/motivation between them
Neither want to be the guy that DIDNT become a stalwart on their team.
They are linked and I think that gives them just a bit extra motivation

I fully believe KA feels his number 1 spot is threatened by mike Williams and I love it
We talk about culture change, well this is it.
For once we can live up to our annual moto
Competition is beautiful

Why do you think that? No mention of it from coaches or front office.

Whis seems to say he was drafted for OG. Not sure why anyone thinks OT or OC at this point...

Why do you think that they wouldn't give him a try there? It's not as if he isn't already likely making a position switch. It seems short sighted to assume that he won't get a look there when we have no long term answer presently manning OC.

We have no long term answer at C, sure.

We have no short term answer at either G position. Thats why I think it's farfetched to think we look to Lamp at the C spot.

Especially with Whis saying "we drafted him to play OG."

Slauson was not, at best, "just average."

Especially if you consider who was lined up next to him.

A- grade

Could end up an A+ over time.

An A from me means 3 starters at need positions that truly contribute. A+ is those 3 starting their first year I think it will turn out that we did at least an A.
