He was absent from the first workouts-the barefoot workouts.

Already gone...

I didn't expect him to get released this season, but it makes me happy all the same.

This should free up some cash to go after a CB or possibly a RB.

I also thought this would happen next year since they still owe him guaranteed money, but I guess the cap savings and drafting of two guards made him expendable. The depth would have been nice though.

On a positive note, this means that after just 1 rookie mini-camp, the Chargers are comfortable enough with who they have to let Franklin go.

Although I guess "technically" they could still go with Slauson, Pulley & Tuerk as the starting interior line, but it's looking good for one, if not two of the rookie guards to start.

Too bad. He never did deliver on his previous successes. Everything is a crapshoot when it comes to free agents. For every Casey Heyward that outperfroms expectations, there's an Orlando Franklin, who barely even scratches the surface on what he could have been..

i can admit when im wrong (most of the time)
I liked the franklin signing and supported him being here through this year.
in Lynn I trust and coming off back to back number 1 rushing titles, this is absolutely a Lynn approved move.

excited about the youth movement up front.
