Too bad since he's so slow his team got no points off his 90 yard catch!

Right. It had nothing to do with the 4 plays after that where they couldn't score from the 1 yard line. Good call.

No, I completely agree with you. VJ is doing a great job of winning a lot of fantasy football games today!

First off - VJ was offered a contract, he was the one who chose not to take it.

Second, while we can tell by your user name that you really liked VJ... guess what? He is no longer a Charger. It's over, done, fini... Get over it.

And for the record - yes, he's having a good day against an inept N.O. defense (bottom 10). However, if you look at what he has done this season he has had stinkers as well, especially considering he's the Bucs "#1"...

1 - 29 against Dallas...
4 - 66 against the Chiefs...
4 - 47 against the Panthers...

Can't really say the Panthers (1-4, 20th in pass yards allowed) or Chiefs (1-5, 15th in pass yards allowed) are world beaters...

Vincent Jackson was our best receiver. We were stupid to let him leave. He should've been extended after the Pittsburgh 2008 game when it was obvious he was a #1. Show me Meachem and Royal's numbers this season and hold your breath until one of those guys has a 200 yard game.

Is Meachem the chargers #1 receiver?

I was always felt regardless of who's the "technical" no1, M80 was going to be the Chargers go to guy. He was our #2 receiver when VJ was here and he's the the guy Rivers is looking for first, given the chance.

Royal is used a little different than VJ and plays multiple roles.

Also, Vincent brown was looked at as an emerging go to WR.

So, I think it's a bit of a strawman to compare [royal or meech] vs. VJ - comparing to M80 would be more appropriate.

M80: 25 for 416 yds 16.7ypc 1 td

VJ: 27 for 586 yds 21.7ypc 5td

Obvious that VJ had a monster game today to greatly inflate those stats - the dude was only getting 54 ypg going into today.

M80 is quite capable of having a monster game too, he's done it before. I think as we go further in the season you will see M80's production average follow VJ's, lagging behind just a little.

If there is or was public info on the Chargers offering VJ a contract please post the link. Otherwise your statement does not appear to be true. Do you have inside information?

At best there were some talks that never materialized even after VJ hinted that he would take less to stay in SD.

Not even sure what difference it makes but he is thus far doing well in TB.
