Default Jerry Jones almost bought San Diego Chargers

Jerry Jones wanted to buy Chargers and his father talked him out of it. It's on NFL Network now. He would have double his investment one year later after afl and NFL merged.

Your reaction.

Wasn't he doing something before he became an owner?

Would have been nice to let people see what could have been.

He was interviewed about this. Jones was a big fan of Lance Alworth back in the day. He loved watching him play and talked about owning the Chargers.

Nothing is certain but you can say the recent hall of fame owner would of found a way to build a new stadium in San Diego. I think he would of found a way to minimize the dysfunction between ownership and the local SD government with leadership and definitive action.

Jerry came at the right time. Made his mark in bringing back the Cowboys to be Americas team with Jimmy Johnson in the nineties. It's all football history now.

Agreed about the stadium. Dean has weak pockets and a weak character. Jerry has neither of those, and knows how to bend without breaking. He's a big picture person.

Heck of a cheerleading squad Jerry endorsed, also.

But he didn't so I don't care... That's how I feel about it.

Did he say he would have left them in LA?

The best Offense is a good Defense.

Probably not right?

Jerry went to college with old friend Jimmy Johnson around that time. Did he amass his wealth at the time of LA's departure to San Diego? I'm guessing but he may have followed Alworth once he became an SD Charger.

In a parallel universe. The San Diego Chargers are "America's Team".
