Hey Eye - sorry for the delayed reply... have been away from the computer the past day shoveling snow, then more snow, and finally shoveling more snow, lol...

I think Golson is a good OC as a pass blocker and as a run blocker at point of attack... but i do find when he gets to the second level, his blocks have less energy and effectiveness. However, if the team saw Golson as a Guard, then I would prefer we draft a guard like Wynn (note, i only mention Wynn as he is an example of a round 3 guard opportunity, imo...)...

Lots of options for the Bolts, key will be what Lynn thinks of Lamp... is he a future Centre (remember he had some snaps in camp there), or is he an OG or RT?... Lots to consider... The best true OC in the draft is Ragnow until the combine...

An uber athletic JV replacement ?
Thanks for taking time to check him out.. Yes, very athletic... those yellow jerseys take some getting used to...

I like his interception in this clip... 25 second mark...

And he can return punts...

Small school guy... he is on my Excel file round 7 shot in the dark picks.. probably a UDFA...

A guy that is ranked by "experts" right around Allen's rank is Armani Watts. IMO, we don't need a safety as badly as we used to. Tre Boston has done a very good job... especially lately.

He’s been up and down. Last game was pretty bad, and he started the season pretty rough. All in all he has been solid.... wonder what he’s gonna expect for a new contract.

Chargers defense is #3 in the NFL in passing yds/game. They are 1 of 4 teams that have more interceptions than TD passes against them.

Boston may be "up and down" but I'd say he's been more "up" than "down". He's come in and played Gus' single high pretty well. He played the same roll for Carolina during their SB run a couple years ago too.

Sorry, but I think that safety is not a PON when compared to other positions on our team.

Even though Boston's play was at times mediocre earlier this season, lately he has improved and also, he does have those 4 picks so far, which puts him among the league leaders. You better believe that after playing for $900k this year, he's going to want top dollar, or close to it, wherever he goes...

Tre Boston. To stay or not to stay.

Which is why it's a good thing that the draft is after free agency. We'll know if TB is staying with us or not to determine if safety becomes a need.

Maybe that's why Adrian Phillips is getting so much time? Grooming him to take TB's spot?

What are the chances Dexter McCoil gets brought back?

Agreed.
Gotta like Rodney Harrison/Marcus Allen.
BUT We do not draft safeties early anyway.
Take our current special chemistry into account.
I presume Boston/Phillips are not going anywhere but Stub Hub.
I see our defensive needs as being very narrow and specific.
Build depth.
Moreso than upgrade.
