It's OK kiddo.
An allegedly elite Prospect.
Lamp was estimated to be a potentially elite OG once developed.
He was not an elite OL talent before he started his 1st NFL game.
It was always a gamble. Very little film on him at OG, not built to play OT.
He may be a bust but there's no hint of that as yet, other than random amature assumptions.

It beats repeating that before his injury they were raving about Lamp and he was penciled in as a starter

A lot of writers & publicists went off about his talent. Not so much the coaches. I think he was penciled in to start but never earned the job. Had he escaped injury, trained, played & done well, he probably would be a solid starting RG. He didn't and isn't. So far he has yet to be a full participant in his 1st training camp.

The guy was off the charts at the beginning of training camp.

Crazy impressive.

Coaches saw it too.

Are some invested in saying otherwise?

They planned to play him at RG and he was "coming along well". It's a darn shame that his development as an NFL RG came to a screeching halt. Most of us looked forward to his playing. I know I did. I still do but don't expect it to happen unless injuries force their hand.
He needs to start with a healthy training camp.

So Lamp was a 'gamble' when TT used that 2nd rd pick on him.....seriously ?

Yes, every pick is a gamble......albeit educated gambles, but to portray Lamp as a 'gamble' is beyond idiocy.

Estimated, potentially, once developed.......give me a break.

No hint of his being a bust pick ? Ridiculous......and there is no assumption involved in Lamp not getting any playing time. Simple fact, he watches on game days, two seasons worth. Wait, Lamp has seen a few plays, but then back to watching and that is a big hint.....

The OL is playing well and at thus point Lamp should be on the fields as a rotational player in the position they have been training him for. He need real snaps even if it's in the 4th qtr of a blow out. We all know the injury history we have had in the past.

It would not be a wise move to have Lamp get a starting job due to unforseen injuries without real snaps. Especially going into the PO.

Offensive line is the one entity
I am willing to massage, prod and be extremely patient with.

It is the nature of the beast...continuity, coordination and also salary cap ramifications, scarcity at the positions, required investment of draft capital, all call for this approach.

All anyone who disagrees with this take can do, is make the false claim that they are the especially clever, football savvy ones, with access to inside information, or in the alternative, make derogatory personnel comments about those of us who have compelling counter arguments.

If you don't want repetitiousness, then stop being repetitive, and give it a rest.

What is ridiculous is you repeating that it is always all about talent.

It is not all about talent when we are talking about offensive line units.

More than any other position group, the offensive line unit is that unit where the total is often greater than the
sum of its parts.

Furthermore, you are being dismissive of the performance of Schofield at ORG, both individually and as part of the unit.
