depends.
are we planning on winning the superbowl next year?
we'll need all the help we can get, over-paid or not (yes he's over-paid)
normally i'd like to say "cut the fat"
but if we're considering a true playoff push in 2018 we should keep CL.
i think this is the way TT goes.
This is a good post, and I would like to add to it.
Our front office (TT) is in a unique situation here. The picture and perspective is almost easier when we were sucking. Overpaid/cut. Not performing/cut.

At 9-7, we are in different territory. We are on the cusp. Never mind the overpaid guy, or the average player. Do you want to rock the boat/hurt the chemistry by cutting so and so ??????

It's a very interesting perspective.

I agree with you. Keep all that you can and add in FA and Draft.

Clearly this is a Bradley's ran draft. No more slow unathletic safeties or undersized LBs. Say bye bye to Addae and Jatavis soon or after this season.

Exactly.
For the first time in a long time
We can actually have good depth.
Player growth through competition for snaps
And ability to overcome injury
Are the two main benefits.
This time, hang on to what we got.
Identify our weakest links.
Draft accordingly.
TT/McGuire, earn your money.
We are also allowed to also say
So and so has gone
From terrible to pretty good,
And still call for an upgrade.
That is how to compete for the Lombardi.

Who said anything about making holes? I believe we can find similar or better at $10 million a year to take over Liuget. Think at that price wed be more than able to find a better run stuffer/every down player.

Chemistry.
gusD/AL/TT say we have it.
This is why I am reticent to prune.
Part of me wants to stand with you, SBB.
Clear out Mebane and Liuget.
I liked Benny Logan, someone you mentioned. Gritty. Tough.
Then I remember he was the one who
lacerated Hunter Henry's kidney
on a cheap shot.

I really like all this arm wrestling we do.
It is the process.
It is how we get there.
Prioritize PON's.
Grade the talent.
Find the FA who is just who we need at the right price.

We dont always agree on everything but its always nice to have a civil back and forth about things we are passionate about. All in all, I know we all here just want to continue to improve as a defense/a whole. Im sure theres more FAs out there that we are all unaware of that can help. All I know is we ought to always look to be improving when possible. I just so happen to think we can improve on Liuget.
