I see several posts like this but remember that it takes two to tango. We read weeks ago that they were trying to trade Inman. If he had found someone willing to give up a higher pick he would have pulled the trigger. I think we are (many of us, myself included) a bit harsh on TT. I can't think of any reason that he would not have traded Inman for a higher pick other than no-one offered him something more.

Contract year, he most likely wouldnt have played anyway. It was nice of them to let him go play for a roster spot next year and some money.

I dont see the reason to trade a proven receiver for a really low value
He was a really good insurance incase allen or williams get hurt

Inman probably wasn't going to play. Get something for him while you can.

People are upset about this. TT probably tried to trade Inman for a 5th or 6th round draft pick, but no was willing to budge. We don't know this.

^ This. With MegaMike getting more snaps, Inman's days were probably numbered. The Bolts also must have seen enough of Geremy Davis on the PS, that they felt his skill set was comparable, or maybe even slightly superior to that of Inman. So now Davis has been promoted from PS to active roster to fill Inman's spot.

Seems like a viable move like others have stated. You get a younger wr/replacement and a 7th conditional pic, sounds good to me.

G.Davis age 25, 6'2 216 , sixth round pick injuries one hamstring and one groin pull

D.Inman age 28 , 6'3 205 undrafted. injuries : one cervical neck strain,concussion grade 1 and a concussion grade 3

My thought is the team decided that Inman was not in their plans moving forward. Yes, injuries could have changed that viewpoint, but all decisions are calculated risks. Getting a pick is the best return, regardless of it being 'only' a 7th round pick.

The Inman trade was for a conditional pick, rumored to be the Bears 2018 7th rounder. Is that ultimately what happened? Do we know yet?

we did not receive compensation.... Dontrelle fell just short of the number of required passes caught/receptions for us to receive the seventh rounder.... as of now we are without a seventh round pick.

we may qualify for a comp pick based on Te'o/Woodhead.... not much of an expert, just standing by like the rest of us.
