I agree, but even before last season KA was pegged as more of a possession receiver and not a true, #1 home run hitter in the mold of Randy Moss. The Bolts IMO were always looking for that true #1 and T. Will was a step in that direction.

Mike Williams, with the type of QB PR is with his penchant for throwing up jump balls, is a better fit for the Chargers as a #1. A VJ/M80 hybrid, if you will.

As if KA is intentionally getting injured......

No message sent to anyone, Williams is just a good solid addition to the team.

KA was owning Marcus Peters in the season opener. Can someone who isn't a true number 1 receiver be doing that to one of the best corners in the game?

Isn't the entire WR group just insurance ?

Williams pick has little to do with KA, other than having both makes Wiz's game planning much more troublesome for DC's.

well yeah but as we seen last year when keenean went down the offense definitely took a little bit of a step back.

there was a pretty big drop off from allen where now the chargers would still be okay if keenan goes down, assuming Williams lives up to the hype.

last years WR's was like a $21,000 insurance policy and now we have upgraded to a $500,000

oh and i'm not saying that's why they drafted Williams, it's just an added bonus and i'm sure it was something they were thinking about. of course they are concerned about allen's health going forward, how could you not be?

I think being a true #1, and being a home run hitter are different things. Ideally you have a WR that is both. When healthy, KA is a good or very good NFL #1. Mike Williams has the potential to be a good or very good #1 as well.

They won't be the fastest tandem in the NFL, but they could realistically become one of the best. KA has to stay healthy, and MW has to come in and work hard to fulfill his NFL potential.

I am curious how closely the Chargers rated Williams and John Ross. If not for the medical, maybe they go with him. But the thought of TWO great WR who can't stay on the field is pretty horrible.

He sure is... And if KA gets injured again we are less likely to be hosed for the season.
