Yep good read
Anthony Lynn spent his first season-and-a-half as Chargers head coach looking for a reliable kicker. He finally found one in Michael Badgley—then realized he'd known him for years.

Edit: flash back to Well,” Lynn said, “we made all of our damn kicks.” Hahaha. Loved that quote. And I remember how excited we all were then. Wow! What a long incredible season it’s been guys. So thankful we are still in meaningful football and can hang on these forums.
Dang, didn't know he could throw the ball, or run with it....... hope NE doesn't know that ;-)

I didn't realize we had Rex Ryan's son on our coaching staff, either.

Agree. A football player who can run, pass, kick, tackle too. I wonder when we'll see a trick play?

Versatile and athletic in high school. He played QB, safety, kicker and linebacker. Plus he subbed for Ryan on returns. No wonder this kid is so
confident. In his mind, he could go out there for a play of two if you let
him. In his mind, he's not just a kicker. Cool!

Great read. FGs have been the bane of our existence since Kaeding donned the Lightning Bolts. My oldest son is now totally obsessed with the Chargers... I wonder where my 12 year old got that passion?.... At any rate, my son started calling him "The Goat" right after the Cleveland Game.... it seemed like a joke at the time.... but he has become legend in our household. I took him to the Bengal Game to get his very first taste of an NFL Game... and what does Money Bags do?... Hits a 59 yarder right in front of our eyes. In short, this guy has been a tremendous story for us. I really hope he continues this way... I am confident that it is a giant reason why the team is still in the hunt. After reading this story.... you have to wonder if the coaches have bandied the idea of a fake FG.?.? He played all of those positions... including QB. He should have a pretty good chance to throw or run for a 1st down. Of course... continuing to split the uprights is the most important thing he can do for us. CMon Money Bags.... please be our Vinatieri!

His teammates have started calling him the “Money Badger,” or just “Money Bags.”

The CMB started that. The players ARE reading!!
