Nobody can have hands that are that bad, can they? It has to be concentration. Hit the Juggs. Sammy just needs to slow himself down-slow the game down. Sammie Coates is just too fast. He's gonna go sub-Dorsett at the Combine !! 4.25 !! SC @ 17 !! Field stretcher.

Kemp, that is the part I am trying to figure out. If he was hurt, lack of concentration, or what. This is another guy with some freakish talent, power and speed. Just those drops are concerning. I have seen some things on him, great character for one thing he has for sure. He's one on my radar, and not sure where he will land, but if he lasts til the 3rd, I would get him.

Sometimes guys just have terrible hands and there's no other explanation. DHB, for example.

I guess we'll have to call him Sammie "Teflon" Coates...no stick...

How do you differentiate between concentration and coordination? It's tough to say drops are from concentration when he might just have poor hand-eye coordination.

I'm only half tongue-in-cheek when I say that most people differentiate on the basis of how much they like the player otherwise.

I will say this though, Tevin Reese was a freaky athlete with elite speed/quickness who was mainly used in the vertical game... He was also undeveloped on his route tree and had inconsistent hands. He had a lot of "upside" for anyone who could develop his routes and hands. He didn't even make our roster.

Granted, he didn't have the build that Coates has, but a similar risk-reward value and it blew up bc he couldn't catch the ball facing the QB.

I wouldn't call Reese a freak athlete. He was undersized. Coates is faster and 40 pounds heavier. That's a huge difference IMO.

Not sure if it was this poster or someone else, but the comparison to Reese and Coates has come up before.

Apples : Oranges.

btdubs, I watched Waldman's RSP with Lance Zeirlein regarding Scherff. I'd be happier with Scherff than Cam Erving at 17 provided Duke and Parker weren't there. I like Scherff better than that LSU kid. I think instant plug and play at LG. Leave Watt at C, and then we just need to resign King, and find a RG.
