Default Browns take on stopping the Chargers.

Joe Haden is a two-time Pro Bowler with one main job for the Cleveland Browns – lock up the opponent’s best receiver.
“(We) feel like, if they have a set number one guy, (we) make sure that I follow.”
This week, his target is Keenan Allen.

The third-year pro ranks third in the NFL with 29 catches and sixth with 315 yards, which is a record breaking start for a Chargers wide receiver.
According to Haden, his game plan is to make sure he keeps Allen in front of him chasing the ball back toward Philip Rivers.
“When you study film it’s kind of just categories of wide receivers,” he said. “You can tell a lot about guys in their quickness. They come out of their breaks in types of ways. I think with him, he’s one of those guys you have to make sure that you stay on top of. I just try to play him top down and make sure he catches the ball coming back to the quarterback.”
Haden has never faced Allen on the field, but he’s impressed with what he’s put on tape.
“He’s very, very good. He’s smooth. He’s definitely good with the ball in his hands, runs good routes, he’s very crisp (and) he’s an all-around really good receiver. I like his game. I’ve never played against him before so just studying him on tape has been good.”
Allen isn’t the only Charger that has flashed on tape. Currently ranking last in the league against the rush, the Browns have placed extra emphasis on stopping the run this week. After watching film of Melvin Gordon, Haden knows the Browns will need to be at their best.
“He breaks a lot of tackles. That’s one thing that we saw. He breaks a lot of tackles and has really good vision. I know from watching him in college his breakaway speed is really good, so with him we’ve got to make sure we get everybody to the football. Don’t think if one person hits him that he’s going to be able to go down. We need to gang tackle that dude because he runs hard and he has really good vision.”

Browns Head Coach Mike Pettine expanded on his cornerback’s thoughts, explaining how his team was high on Gordon coming out of the draft.
“The speed is the first thing you notice,” he said. “He was very high on our board. We were very interested in adding a running back, and he was right up there with the top ones in the draft. (He has) breakaway speed and the ability to hit a home run from anywhere on the field. But he didn’t appear to us to be just a guy who can run on a track playing football. This is a football player. So he’s got good ball skills and good vision. When you watch him play, you wouldn’t say ‘hey, it’s clear that guy’s a rookie.’ It looks like he’s been doing this a while.”

And in breaking news, the Browns decline to give us any locker room material.

Yeah, it's not like they have the receiver who's 4th in receptions and 6th in yards in the NFL and #1 on his own team by a wide margin.

#1 Wr dont take every other game off, or every other year off. just my opinion. There has been plenty of posts that talked about the Chargers not having a true #1 WR. sorry if this news is troubling for you.

It isn't clear either way what Allen will be or is at the moment. The systemic offensive problems make it unclear. Not everyone has the ability to cut through the messy uncertainty with arrogant negativity the way you do. Sorry is this new is troubling for you.

No one on our roster is a #1 WR. that's just a fact. M80 tries to spread the field and ONE CATCH per game and that's not what a #1 receiver does.

KA is faaaaaaaaaar from being a #1 receiver, idk why we're even talking about this. we just do not have that guy. period.

KA is a very good slot receiver that's able to get some some very needed YAC, every other game. When faced with a legit corner, he's completely diminished. Still has potential, he's just not there yet.

at this point our best receiver is Woodhead LOL
