Plot Twist on draft day. The Los Angeles Chargers select: Lamar Jackson, WR Louisville

Sure if he's available in round 6.

The best Offense is a good Defense.

Those who dismiss Jackson better be right about how well he will do in the NFL.
Clearly assessment can be wrong about players and what they will become.
Look around the league. UDFAs starting and rd1 or rd 2 picks not living up to their draft spot. Happens quite a bit.
Look at the Chargers secondary. Addae & Williams were udfas. Hayward was clearly a steal in free agency.
And the lone #1 draft pick Verrett cannot stay healthy.

Jackson may or may not succeed as an NFL QB, but to simply dismiss his ability to get it done in the NFL is not smart. You don't know, I don't know, but he does have a chance to be special because he has talent that no QB in the NFL has.

Worth the risk, imo.

We are so close to beating teams like the Chiefs and Patriots. Run defense ranked the poorest in the league. We need players in key positions and a player who can help with field position. Jackson won't help in these areas. I hope it's all a smokescreen.

Also, his score on the wonderlic. Not good right? There is a high correlation between a decent score and success on the field since QB is assimilating lots of plays and making audibles at a moments notice. Gotta have a QB who can do that at a high level. The physical tools are great but in the end he is missing key attributes accuracy for one decent score on the wonderlic the other.

Sorry to pigeon hole Lamar but we are so close and I'd like to take the calculated risk of meeting needs by getting talented players in key positions. It makes sense given their FA's acquisitions. TT is being smart right? Please don't draft Lamar.

If one very good QB left at 17th, what kind of deal from an another team the Chargers can not resist to?
Switch 1st round picks with the Bills + their 2nd?
Same thing with NO?

Bills already traded up with the Bengals, they’re getting a QB with their first 1st round pick.

Eagles traded up twice but that was a checkmate move to get to the 2nd overall. Bills would they circle the wagon with us for the 17th pick? That would be superb for this franchise.

Second!

Deshaun Watson has pocket presence. Lamar Jackson has to prove what he has in that department.

Saints dont have a second round pick...I'm not falling back that far without a second...or a first next year.

Pittsburgh does...but again, not a fan of falling that far back...have to be a pretty good haul. plus Second and third, maybe another pick next year.

Buffalo? To get their guy, they are gonna have to move up again....their 12 and our 17 might be the ticket...we get their low 20s pick, one of their seconds, and that top of the 3rd they got from Cleveland...that would be sweet.
