Seriously.... how many flags are not thrown when it comes to Rivers. How many roughing the passer calls has he been awarded this year, throughout his career.

It would be interesting to see that.

Lynn deserves credit for what Rivers is doing Last year and so far this year. Same Rivers, except the turnovers are way down. Turnovers being such a huge factor in winning and losing. If this trend continues, Chargers will win 10+ games and be in playoffs.

Lynn? Not Whiz?

I'd say Whiz and hopefully Rivers matured and since he likes to study film so much he saw the light not to do those stupid passes.

I'll give Lynn credit for after starting 0-4 by trying to run the ball every first down it seemed he let Whiz take over and let Rivers sling it on first down the last 12 games and so far this year as well.

PFF has our boy Rivers ranked as the number 1 QB this season against pressure.

This isn't new for PR. Don't know (or care) about PFF.

Many years of a crappy oline have produced one mighty fine Rivers.

Glad this guy finally has a decent oline.

Assuming PR spends his entire career as a Charger, if this franchise fails to win a Lombardi with Rivers it will be a crime against football.

I don't know if the 1st down play call of pass or run mattered.
The only game they were exclusively run on 1st down was game 1 vs Broncos in the 1st half only.

During the Season in game where they passed it more on 1st downs which happened 7 times they went 2-5.
In games where they ran in more on 1st downs they went 7-2.
But when a team has the lead, they tend to run a bit more and throw a bit more when behind.

Overall on 1st down plays only.

4 Game Total (0-4)
1st Half - 33Runs / 22Passes
2nd Half - 15Runs/ 42Passes

Total - 48Runs / 64Passes

Supposedly this is where the switch to a little more pass on 1st downs happened. I don't see it.

Next 4 Game Total (3-1)
1st Half - 29Runs / 22Passes
2nd Half - 32Runs / 24Passes
Total - 61Runs / 46Passes

If a switch happened, it may have been here when they had more passes in the 1st half on 1st downs. But it was relatively balanced. I think what started to happen is they went to short passes, more passes to the RBs and stopped trying to force it downfield. Rivers was on pace for 20 turnovers during the 0-4 start. He end up with only 11.Which is why I credit Lynn. The team was playing clean with very few penalties and very few turnovers. I think they also were growing together under a new regime and developing better chemistry in both run & pass. But Whiz deserves credit too, Rivers has had some of his lower turnover rates when Whiz has been his OC.

Next 4 Game Total (3-1)
1st Half - 27Runs/ 36Passes
2nd Half - 36Runs / 15Passes
Total - 63Runs / 51Passes

Final 4 Game Total (3-1)
1st Half - 33Runs/ 40Passes
2nd Half - 33Runs / 21Passes
Total - 66Runs / 61Passes
