Jammer enjoys being low key
While many NFL players love the spotlight, Chargers cornerback Quentin Jammer is quite content with his low profile while others garner the attention. More...

Jammer just goes out and does his thing, while others reap the flashy rewards.

It's no mystery why, in last year's SNF game versus the Colts, Madden quoted Peyton Manning as saying, with some glee, that the Chargers didn't have Quentin Jammer.

Peyton mentioned QJ by name. That's respect.

A lot of Peyton's success passing in the second half came in the short middle and right parts of the field, where QJ usually roams.

With the success that Cro had last season you would have to think that QB's will look in 23 direction more this season. I hope he's up for the challenge and can continue to make good plays for the D. INT's are nice but I would rather he keep guys out of the end zone than get picks. He seems to think the same thing.

Those 10 INTs didn't happen all at once though. QBs knew Cro was good at picking 'em off and they still threw away from Jammer.

QJ blankets WR pretty well. I don't know if QBs would be willing to risk throwing at Jammer just to see it go incomplete on a breakup, if not INT. That's where the middle part of the field will become their area.

I think the passing defense of the ILBs and FS will become crucial as teams look to take Cro and QJ out of the passing play and throws to the middle become more commonplace.

Jammer gets better every year this time people will notice the changes.

Those interceptions went to Cro because of Jammer's play...

Like stated above, the focus of attack will be once again on the Chargers biggest weakness for the past seasons, the passing D in the middle.

Anyone think his growth was somehow stunted by having no one to take him under their wing? Props to not being as petty and helping his fellow corners.

“I kind of took him under my wing when he got here and nobody did that for me when I was a rookie,” Jammer said. “I had to learn it all on my own. In a sense, it’s like I lived vicariously through him. Seeing him get 10 picks and go to the Pro Bowl, I was right there. He can have all the attention. I’m just going to try to keep making quarterbacks look the other way.”
That is the key, right there.
