Default Earl Thomas to the Chiefs? & Other Trade Whisperings

Read about this on the ESPN sports ticker.

Excerpt.

Quote:
Reid didn't specifically mention Thomas' name -- a good thing when considering the safety is still under contract with the Seahawks -- but the head coach downplayed reports the Chiefs were involved in trade talks.

"Right now we don't have anything and that's not where we're at," Reid told reporters Monday, via the Chiefs official website. "I know the rumor is out there, but that's not where we're at."

Nevertheless, perhaps there is more to the Thomas reports than what Reid can publicly disclose.

A team source on Monday told NFL.com's Jeffri Chadiha that the Chiefs continue to inquire about a trade for Thomas but admits it would be difficult pull off. The source said the interest in Thomas is not related to any concerns over the health of Eric Berry.

Also, unrelated, Jets have contacted the Steelers about LeVeon Bell.

Thomas is probably out for the year with a broken leg.

Unfortunate for Thomas. He wasn't happy once they loaded him up on the cart. Was it him giving the middle finger towards the sideline in anger? Lots of hurt feelings. You work your but off to possibly get an extended contract after your rookie one and things get nasty with the hold out you return and an injury happens. His only leverage is gone.

Be well Earl Thomas. Maybe it's best to part ways with the Seahawks. You will get paid...just as Richard Sherman did. Who knows you may teammates unless you want to play along side Derwin James. That would be sweet.

He's out for the year, which means he's a free agent but there's no way we'll sign him !
