Default Chargers Signing Nick Rose For Kickoffs

According to PFT, Chargers signing Nick Rose to handle kickoff duty only. This won’t affect Money Badger’s FG duties.

I just hope this doesn’t affect Money’s psyche. But I’m good with the move. In a perfect world... we’d get a better punter that could also handle kickoffs.

Smart! Cordarelle Patterson is a game changer.

Agree. Hope Money’s ok. Cordarelle Patterson got them spooked.

Like the Raiders did the Patriots like to use him on reverses. They burned last season for a touchdown. With the addition of Derwin, we've allowed less explosive plays on defense this season. If Rose can limit kick off opportunities, he's done his job.

kickoff coverage has been solid. It's rare the returner gets past the 25. I thought Badge was kicking it high and short of the goalline to allow coverage to converge. They were doing a good job. I'm guessing they'd rather give the free 25 yards on touchbacks than to risk it with patsieson.

Yeah.... coverage has been fantastic. Opponents are usually starting from within the 25 on our short kicks.... often inside the 20. But I trust that the coaches know what they are doing.

With all the problems we have had in the kicking game the last few years I am comfortable with that move. Plus if weather and field conditions end up bad for the Pats game it might be a bit safer to have a 2nd kicker on hand.
