Broncos | Team lobbied to not play in season-opener Thursday

Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan lobbied the NFL from scheduling the team for the regular-season opener Thursday, Sept. 7, in Pittsburgh against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Shanahan claimed it was unfair because the Broncos final exhibition game was on the road Thursday, Aug. 31.
Cry me a river shanarat ! The NFL doesn't play fair in your eyes !

Shanarat is rediculous. You play with the hand that is dealt to you. Wow, if that is possible, then maybe Marty should have complained about 4 east coast trips last year. Oh, wait, Marty actually has balls, while Shanarat has been missing his for awhile.

Default Mike Bell voted #2 pick by SI

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mul...content.9.html
Broncos coach Mike Shanahan won't say who Denver's primary running back will be, but Bell will likely see plenty of action against the Rams. The undrafted rookie out of Arizona averaged 5.3 yards per carry in the preseason. In 1995, Terrell Davis, a sixth-rounder, became the lowest draft pick ever to surpass 1,000 yards in his rookie year. With the always-effective Broncos line in front of him, Bell could knock Davis out of the record book.

How come Reggie Bush was voted #1

Look up the last time SD played a team that played in the SB on opening day compared to the Broncos. Learn your facts then go to the smack.

So you're saying the NFL should make concessions to the Broncos? So...the Broncos are somehow more important than other teams?

Everyone gets reamed by the schedulemaker on occasion. Deal with it. You didn't play 4 teams coming off their bye-week last year (three of those games on the road), and two other teams on short rest. Deal with it.

It's interesting to hear Shanny talk about being at a "competetive disadvantage" when everyone who has ever watched football knows the Donks have one of the biggest homefield advantages in the league due largely to the altitude at which they play.

Don't forget about the Chef game where they played on a Thursday, which gave them an extra 3 days to get ready for us.

what i dont understand is why you all are crying about it. Your team wasnt even considered to play the first game against the steelers, so maybe you guys are favored more than us.

The broncos arent playing pittsuburg week 1. who cares?
