Too bad he wasn't released on Friday.

Trying to claim him with a 5-2 record would garner a better chance than with a 6-2 one.

If he clears waivers we have a shot at him.

Perhaps other teams will also think twice with his age and potential injury, current contract and he could clear.

One of the reasons some think he may not be claimed is because he was supposedly shopped before trade deadline and no one showed interest. Hard to say how this will go down as trade is a different animal with more variables.

Anything is possible either way.

As per the Colgate Pro Day, Patrick Afriyie put up vertical and broad jump numbers that were identical to Bruce Irvin's, to wit 33 1/2" and 10'2". The explosion is there. If gusD is concerned (and he is not) he will call up Afriyie.

Irvin had 8 sacks last year. How many did Patrick have?

14 TFLs last year too.
Don't like the player.
Like our current DL population.
Out.

I'm good either way. He offers flexibility in a Bradley Defense. Can play the OTTO linebacker position and DE, which will still be useful when Bosa comes back, as he can rotate in.

With that said, given the play of our defensive unit as of late, I'm okay with a lack of pursuit. Because, if that's the case, there's probably a good reason for it.

I just think he'd be an upgrade over Pullard, who's just keeping the spot warm for someone else.

Afternoon today, but I don't have an exact time. His agent has probably been on the phone with teams gauging interest, and vice-versa.

It's now a free-for-all.

Former Raiders’ DE Bruce Irvin, and the $3.8 million he had left on his Oakland contract, went unclaimed on waivers today, per source. Now a free agent.

Not free for the Raiders - ha ha ha! .... they have to pay him the $3.8mil remaining on this yrs contract.

I'd guess he'll have at least a few interested teams, probably those in playoff contention, I think we've got a shot if the Chargers are interested .... Gus, Mebane, Okung, a familiar 4 - 3 D and our 6 - 2 record might be appealing to him if he wants another shot at a SB ring.

We don't have a lot to spend, but he's getting $3.8mil from the Raiders for the remaining games of this season.

Sign here Bruce! .... M.I. needs a side kick till Joey gets back out there.

Go Chargers!
