I would love to have RGIII as the backup. If Rivers goes down our season is basically over, but at least we would be able to have a slight glimmer of hope if he did with RGIII in my opinion. Another way to look at it is RGIII may be able to win us enough games to keep our playoff hopes alive if, God forbid, Rivers gets hurt for a couple games.
I'd like to see him get a chance. I'm a sucker for second chances.

That said, I like RGIII and hope somewhere will sign him.

I still think that Kap ends up in Seattle. Mainly for the reason you mentioned why he hasn't been signed to a backup role. They could roll Kap in and have to change little to nothing in terms of play calling.

That said, I can't stand RGIII as a player and could care less if he gets signed.

It's only a distraction if the team, ie, players allows it to be. And this might be a shock to many, but lots and lots of players are in agreement with and support Kap.

Better career stats? How so?

During a mini camp practice they had Rivers run a read-option. I'm guessing he told Wiz, get someone else in here for that.

I just ran into Rivers in Santa Rosa Beach FL. come to find out he has a Vaca home within a few miles of mine. We spoke briefly about this years team. He said "this team feels like it could be as good as the 2006-2008 teams". He looked like he was in great shape.

I cannot see us wasting a roster spot on RGDone.

See, now I prefer RGIII-and out. Rolls off the tongue better!

A mobile QB I like it, plus anyone's an upgrade over Clemens.
