The players speaking out are either ignorant, or being disingenuous, as it is an obvious analogy and not meant to be taken literally. I do not think they are ignorant (but they could be, as I do not know them), so it is faux indignation.....which most people see through quickly, and why their 'protests' are falling on deaf ears. IMHO

Amazing the ways they can twist a simple figure of speech.
I have no idea how you can come to that conclusion based on McNair’s simple analogy. If they are hurt about this I can’t imagine how depressed they’d be working a working class job with a working class wage without being pampered every where they go.
