Top of my Board...

Maurice Hurst DT-no problem with this guys Heart...and I'm not just talking about the muscle that pumps his blood...

Josey Jewell LB-At the very least, you are getting terrific depth behind an oft injured Perryman...but may be starting MIKE in base packages.

Micah Kiser LB-See above, with less coverage skills, but more thump.

Kalen Ballage RB-We do seem to be thin at RB, and I would be surprised if he is still around...pleasantly so.

Ian Thomas TE-TT type of guy, I really like this kid. By all accounts, great character, loves football, lots of upside.

Yes sir.

Besides the obvious needs, I see hidden needs. We could use a kick returner just for good measure. We could use a third tight end who makes big contributions. It wouldn't hurt to find a DT to go along with Justin Jones.

Really tough picks coming up....

To complete the defence, still need to add talent at DL and ILB.....another Safety might be in play if Hill keeps dropping. I see TT goes ILB before DL, but it will be all about how the board falls.

The offence really needs to address ROT, and depth at OC....but if the analysis is the starters are acceptable, and the depth can stand up to the challenge if called upon, TT goes defence picks 4 and 5.

Jewell is still on the board because of his extremely poor 40 time (4.82) at the Combine and is undersized. He was mocked to go somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd round. He ran a 4.68 at his pro day, but you'd still like to see someone who weighs only 234 run faster, especially considering he will need to gain weight at the NFL level. I like Genard Avery later in the draft

I'd be bold if I was the Bolts and go DT back-to-back. Hurst? Settle?

TT taking another DT next would not be a surprise.....

Jewell: 134 tackles last year. And that's at a high level, in the Big 10 conference. That is mind-boggling:

Jewell wasn't considered an elite recruit despite earning all-state honors (football and baseball) while growing up on a farm in Decorah, Iowa. The Hawkeyes ignored his average measurable to rip him away from Division III Luther College (located in Decorah). As a redshirt freshman, Jewell played in 11 games, starting the final four of the year (51 tackles, one for loss).

He was the team's Most Valuable Player in the 2015 TaxSlayer.com Bowl with 14 tackles. Big Ten coaches and media voted him second-team all-conference in 2015, as he started every game at middle linebacker, leading Iowa with 126 tackles, 7.5 for loss. Jewell intercepted a pass in each of his last three games that year.

In his junior year, Jewell was a finalist for the Butkus Award as the nation's top linebacker as well as the team's MVP and second-team All-Big Ten (team-high 124 tackles, six for loss, two sacks, nine pass break-ups), using his instincts and hustle to consistently find the ball in the run game and pass coverage.

Jewell finished his career on a high note, being named first-team AP All-American and first-team All-Big Ten in his senior year (134 tackles, 13.5 for loss, 4.5 sacks, two interceptions, 11 pass break-ups, one forced fumble).

Okay, let's take a closer look at Mr. Hand:

Hand was considered the number one high school recruit in the country in 2014, ahead of guys like Leonard Fournette, Myles Garrett, and Deshaun Watson. The two-time first-team USA Today All-American was also a state high school wrestling champion. He played in nine games as a true freshman, making seven stops including two sacks.

Hand played in every game as a reserve in Alabama's deep defensive line rotation in their 2015 national championship season (16 stops, 6.5 for loss, three sacks), making an impact in the title game with two tackles for loss against Clemson. That depth kept him from starting again in 2016, but he was a regular contributor (21 tackles, 3.5 for loss, two sacks) using his length, strength, and athleticism to factor in plays where he didn't collect a stat.

Hand started nine of 11 games played in 2017, missing time with a minor knee injury but still recording 27 tackles, 3.5 for loss with three sacks. Hand was arrested for driving under the influence in July 2017, though he was actually found sleeping behind the wheel of the car while it was parked.
