Nobody has figured this out. My guess is he straight ticked someone off. Lynn, Bradley, someone....................

There is an article someone posted a link to at ESPN...seems he might have been a little slow on the uptake in the scheme change, and Bradley used a lot of dime packages, utilizing Phillips in Browns's spot...I look for us to shift away from that some, to get a handle on the run game, and hopefully Brown has/will put in the necessary work to get his talented self back on the field.

Jatavis can ball having watched him play against the Broncos his rookie season. He had his best game 10 plus tackles, a sack and that huge hit on Thomas over the middle causing a fumble.

He played in a 3-4 scheme that game. It's football at the highest level so what ever he needs to study and assimilate he can get it done. Be nice to have him step up to his talent and start this season. We let go of Attaochu and Toomer so that alone means he must step up to fill their roles as needed. Getting someone like a Vea would be huge for Brown. Will see.

Eric Williams said that Phillips had a better grasp of the scheme than Jatavis and therefore took snaps away from him.

Just my opinion, but if Brown buckles down & learns the playbook like the back of his hand he'll challenge for the starting WLB spot & will be the nickel linebacker/hybrid spot that Phillips played. In a perfect world Phillips won't play anywhere near the amount of snaps he did in 2017.

Speaking of Jatavis, I think he's better suited as a Strong Safety. Why won't Chargers entertain the thought of that?

Jatavis is nothing more than a sub package LB. He'll never be that every down player. We dont have that player on the roster right now across the board at LB.

Then weak side LB Brown.
And finally the Middle LB Perryman.

I understand wanting depth at Middle LB. But if you draft R.Smith from Georgia or ODaniel from Clemson, they should be playing the Weak Side LB. Neither is a fit at MLB or SLB.

Edmunds or Nwosu would be an instant upgrade over Emanuel.

I like the idea of going after LBs in draft. But I wouldn't have ILB as the spot to fix, unless the plan is to move Perryman to weak side LB.

Lesson learned. Make a decision and stick with it.

He already struggled at the LB position trying to cover TEs/WRs...now you wanna put him at SS where he'd have to do that more often?
