Tierney has been very good, as you said, solid, nothing fancy, but has done fairly well with second line centre minutes. His wingers keep changing; I expect the lines to get more set once Tkachuk gets back from injury.

Demelo has been a huge surprise, considering he was on waivers during the summer. Most Shark fans did not seem to like him, but he has perhaps been the Sens third best defenceman behind Chabot and Lajoie. Sens defence overall is a weak mess.

Boedker, whom the Sens received for Hoffman, has also been a decent surprise.

Blackhawks show coach Q the door.

Coaching issue or talent issue? Got some young guys developing - but still top heavy. Lost too many promising players as cap casualties over the last few seasons. Seems more like a GM issue, but he ain't gonna fire himself.

Wonder how long it is until he's back behind a bench....

Dang. LAK needed to wait two more days before their coach firing/hiring.

Pretty good analysis on this Mid.....

I see a bit of both, coaching and GM decisions. Coaching gets stale, and Q had been there a long time.....my guess well past stale. I also think that there was a mistake made in keeping a couple top players of their core group, which resulted in losing too much talent coming through the system. One of Toews, Kane or Keith should have been moved, maybe even two of the three......

Q can get a job as soon as he wants one, so I would not be surprised if he takes a bit of a break.

The last save being described by Holtby is by far the most difficult save, and rewarding save. Media rarely understands, or speaks about, the intricacies of playing goalie.

Frozen, and others - what do you think of all of the recent goaltender interference rulings? Do you feel there is consistency, or is there a need for some adjustments next season? Reminds me a bit of "what was a catch" in the NFL last season...

Two things.....

The league has an image perception of picking on the goalies with the rule changes regarding equipment. Discreetly having the referees watch the play around the crease might be the league attempting to make amends.

There is absolutely zero consistency......and everyone knows it.
