Moe, Mr. Pernicano and my father were very, very good friends....As a child we went to his house regularly and our two families interacted on a regular basis.

If my father had not messed up and upset my mother enough to talk divorce, he was probably going to invest with the Chargers...That is why we went to LA to see them play there.

We also went to his restaurant in Hill Crest frequently for Italian meals (we are Italians), the food was fabulous...I remember once they got into what I thought was a violent argument, but Dad told me that's how Italians talk, lots of emotions...

Yep. I think so. Opened around 1960 I think.

I went to the same school.
My neck doesn't get burned any more. It's permanently red.

I remember one year when I went to Pernicano's around Christmas time, and he surprised all of the kids there by coming in dressed as Santa Claus. He was a great man.

I found a classic pic of him from his younger days with Joe Nameth at San Diego Stadium

Link for some background info .... apparently Mr. Pernicano had that handlebar mustache that Joe Nameth appears to be admiring insured for $50,000 with Lloyd’s of London according to the link. .... quite a life story he has, he'll be missed.

Go Chargers!
